Greetings from Collinsville,
Well… another year has come and gone. Just where does the time go?
As I look back on this past year I'm filled with gratitude. Mostly because I'm still on this side of the ground, but also because I've really enjoyed getting to see the world and meeting so many interesting characters along the way. I love what I do and feel so incredibly lucky to get to play with such inspiring musicians.
Thanks to everyone who helped make 2005 such a great year. I REALLY appreciate your support and please know that it never goes unnoticed. The emails have been great and keep sending those pictures too!
So let's lift our glasses and toast to a kick-ass 2006 for all!
Take care and I look forward to seeing you on the road.
Cheers!
WHAT'S UP: Here's what's new in Collinsville... updated 03-02-06
September Euro Trip a Blast:
We had a great time in Germany and Switzerland this past September and it was the perfect time of year to be there. It was so beautiful and the fans were incredible. The band line up for this trip was a 4-piece consisting Allen and my self, the amazing Ken McMahan on guitar and Mr. Western Beat himself Billy Block on drums.
One of the highlights of the tour for me was seeing my bud’s BR549 perform at Festival Schupfart in Switzerland. Chuck and the boys are still going strong and with the addition of Mark Miller on bass they are sounding pretty damn good. Chuck was kind enough to ask me to sit in with them to blow some harp and that was way cool! After the show we all sat around the hotel bar and drank while the BR-Boys and crew sang until the cows came home.
Upon our return to the states we received some really good news. It seems Festival Schupfart liked The Stacie Collins Band so much that they’ve invited us back to play next year which is a great honor as they have never used the same American act two years in a row. Special thanks to my friend and booking agent Jürg Schäpper from I.C.S. for bringing us over and treating us so well.
Euro Tour 2006 in the works:
We’ll be going back again this summer and fall. More dates will be added so you can check the SHOWS page for updates.
I'm now on MySpace.com: MySpace.com is a cool online community that allows musicians and fans to connect and share their music and thoughts. A lot of club owners, booking agents and bands use it as a resource to find out what’s going on in the music world in specific cities. It also allows me to have more of a personal connection with the people who dig my music and come out to the shows. It doesn’t take the place of my website, it’s just a faster way for me to communicate with you. You can also discover new bands and drop them a line as well. I’ve posted some new pictures and an mp3 of “Show Your Mama” live in Switzerland at www.myspace.com/staciecollins so check it out!
New Pictures: I’ve added a ton of new pictures to my PHOTOS page. New live shots including the 2005 Euro Tour , Misc., On The Road stuff plus some really cool shots emailed by fans and different photographers that I’ve met out on the road. Thanks guys, keep ‘em comin’. Check out this pic sent in by Anton “Tony” Fischer from Switzerland.
New Video: Thanks to all who’ve dropped me a line inquiring about seeing more live VIDEO. Getting to play the music is what it’s all about and sharing it with you is a pleasure. I’ve added some footage from a Festival we played in back in September. Hope you can make it out to a show in person but until then… here ya go.
Harley Davidson Rules: If you like to ride and road trips turn you on, you should be very happy about this year’s tour schedule. We played a few Harley Rally’s in 2005 like the Fall Rally In The Valley in Maggie Valley, NC and made a lot of new friends along the way. These folks sure know how to have a good time! We’ve been asked to play several more events this year so keep an eye on the SHOWS page and take a little trip, take a little trip, take a little trip with me!
If you'd like to know when I'm playing in your area: Sign the e-list and I'll drop ya a line to let ya know when I’m playin’ in your area. You can also visit my SHOWS page for updates.
Added your name to the e-list but haven't heard from me?: If you’ve signed the e-list at a show and haven’t heard from me, then perhaps I was unable to read it due to let's say… ahem… impaired penmanship (alcohol and handwriting don’t seem to go together for some reason). So here’s what ya do, sign the e-list here and we’ll drop ya a line the next time I’m in your area. If you’ve signed up on my website but never heard from me then: A. I may not have played any shows in your area or B. You might have left out some info that I needed. Please feel free to sign it again or drop me a line at
AMA Recap: Every year the Americana Music Association hosts its annual music conference here in Nashville and the town fills up with even more live music than usual. This past year was no exception. You get to hear some really great acts and miss more than you get to see. Just not enough time to get to all of them. For me it’s a chance to make new friends, see some cool new bands and some old favorites too.
The boys and I had a great time throwin’ down at The Exit/In during the Sin City All Star bash. I was lucky enough to be asked to sit in and blow some harp with several acts this year including my friend and fellow Southern Rocker Tom Gilliam (who also was a presenter and nominee during the AMA awards show at The Ryman). I also played with my buddy Rick Schell formerly of the band PinMonkey at the now defunct “Sutler” (R.I.P.). Rick was my very first drummer after moving to Nashville back in 2001. We worked together until his band PinMonkey got their record deal. Rick has since gone solo and that night invited me to sit in with him on The Ozark Mountain Daredevils classic “If You Wanna Get To Heaven (You Gotta Raise A Little Hell)”. You know the one; it has that cool harp intro. And to really make it special, Ozark band member Supe Granda himself joined us on stage to share vocal duty. Supe is a real character and a fine musician that still has a lot of fun performing. We all had a good time that night and I put some pictures from the AMA weekend up on my PHOTOS page.
When is The Lucky Spot CD going to be released? Talk about building up the anticipation! I can’t blame y’all for complaining about THE LUCKY SPOT not being available yet. I tell ya it’s finished and will be out soon but still… no release date. Here’s the deal - No deal is better than a bad deal. We thought we had a home for this puppy a few times but things don’t always go according to plan. No one is more bummed about this than me but judging by some of the email I’ve gotten this past year there are MORE than a few of you that are VERY interested in getting your hands on a copy (thanks by the way!). All I can say is hang in there, we still have a few things cookin’ and one way or another THE LUCKY SPOT will
be released in 2006.
Here's one for the ladies: New ladies T’s available! Stop by the MERCH page and check ‘em out.
