Greetings from Collinsville,
Well there's a lot of cool things brewin' here in Collinsville. I've been having an absolute blast sittin' in with friends all over town and playing shows close to home. Even though it's been fun I do believe it's time to get back out on the road. It's lookin' like a Scorchin' summer's in my future. I'll be sure and let ya know when I'm in your neighborhood if you signed my email list. I hope all is well in your world and remember... Keep After It!

Take care and come see me on the road.

Peace,

Myrtle Beach Harley Rally:
Hey all you Harley riders. Gene Lummus Harley Davidson has invited me and the boys to rock the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for the 66th Annual Myrtle Beach Spring Rally. May 17th thru the 20th. Dan & Ken are back for this one. We gonna have ourselves some FUN fo sho!

Warner, David (Sweet T), Me, Dan & Allen at 12th & Porter
Jason & The Scorchers:
OK, So check it out: I was on stage at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville singing the last song of the night, "Dim Lights, Thick Smoke & Loud Loud Music" when I turn to my right for Kenny's guitar solo only to find thee Warner Hodges (lead guitarist for the legendary Jason & The Scorchers playing Ken McMahan's Telecaster! How cool is that? Trust me, it was cool! Warner tore into a solo that scorched the stage and I thought to myself, man I sure would love to play with him some more...

Who will fill their shoes?:
Dan & Ken have some side projects going on and are gettin' pretty busy. "Homemade Sin" featuring Ken, Dan, Keith Christopher & Mauro Magellan have a live CD coming out soon and Dan's other band, The Yayhoos also have a new disc out. Needless to say, I needed a stunt guitarist and Warner has offered to fill in for the guys while they're out. I gotta tell ya, them there's some mighty big shoes to fill but if anyone can fill 'em it would be Mr. Hodges. We've played a few shows with Warner already and it's thrilling to watch him do his thang.

Dirt Pharm:
If it's Thursday night and I'm in Nashville, chances are I'm sittin' in with some friends called The Dirt Pharm at Dan McGuiness on the circle. Life on the Pharm is all about the music, having a great time and bringing attention to new and up and coming artists. Check your Attitude and Ego at the door! It's always FREE to get in and being that it's Nashville you never know who's gonna show up to play. I recently got to meet and jam with BB King's drummer Tony Coleman. He don't suck!!!

My tribute to Buck Owens:
I grew up in Bakersfield, CA and during those years I always knew it was Buck's town. He was Bakersfield. Buck developed his sound in tough little honky-tonks in the San Joaquin Valley at places like The Lucky Spot and The Blackboard. Places where my parents used to hang when they were raisin' hell. The guy had over 20 #1's without conforming to Nashville standards. He did it his way, carving out a name for himself in music history that can never be erased. You can bet that the angels are two-steppin' in heaven tonight.
He will be missed.

Buck Owens
August 12th 1929 - March 25th 2006

Allen and I have written a tribute to The Man called "Ode To Buck". We recorded it in our home studio with some friends and have posted it here as an mp3 for y'all to listen to while you think about the great Buck Owens. Eric (EBO) Borash played Lap Steele, Bob Ocker & Steve C. pickin' the twin Telecaster's, Kevin Trotter on drums, Allen Collins on bass and acoustic guitar.
