July 2010
I hope your summer is rockin. As a kid growing up in Bakersfield I used to look forward to the summer time a lot. We would float down the now infamous Kern River on inter tubes, surrounded by drunk "adults" and coolers filled with beer. Not a very good idea looking back since so many people have died because of the swift under current. I had a couple of close calls myself and I'm damn lucky to be alive! I've been lucky a lot in my life.
Now on to some music news; Our Kickstarter pre-sale campaign was a great success. Thanks to many friends and fans, we raised over $4,000! I was hoping to raise $2,500.00 so you all came through in a big way! That money will help finish my new CD, which is so close to completion. Hopefully it will be out in September (maybe sooner). I'll keep all the kickstarter peeps posted as you have some good stuff coming your way. Thank you for helping make it happen! You all are the best.
I've got some new merch in the pipeline including a cool "Sometimes Ya Gotta" T-shirt and chord book complete with lyrics and photos. That's gonna make it easy for all my guitar pickin' friends around the world to cop the riffs on the record from some of the best guitar players in Nashville, and in my opinion... the world.
Did you know you can still order "The Lucky Spot" CD? Yep... you can! You can find it on CD Baby or iTunes so don't pay a gazillion dollars on Amazon. I've been told it's for sale on there for a mere $99.00. My first CD "Stacie Collins" is currently out of print but that may change soon. I'll let ya know if and when we press more.
Our UK tour was a great success. It was our first trip there and we held our own. Opening for Dan Baird & Homemade Sin was awesome and I hope to do more shows with them in the future. Our driver bailed on us at the last minute so we decided to drive ourselves. Yikes! It was a bit hairy scary (driving on the left side of the road is really uncomfortable) but I just kept my head down and my eyes shut, so it was all good. Al did all the driving and Adam was the co-pilot. They reminded me of Han Solo and Chewbacca! It was great playing in a new country and even better to see folks at the shows wearing Stacie Collins T-shirts and singing our songs back to us.

Our Scandinavia tour is up next and we always have a spectacular time playing there. I'm looking forward to seeing all the friends I've made over the last couple of years and meeting new ones, plus eating yummy food!
Well that's all for now. I wanted to get this update out to you all sooner but I've been covered up getting ready for our tour, plus we've been dealing with our flooded house from the Nashville storms. It was pretty terrible what took place here in May but the city is making a good come back. We were pretty lucky compared to a lot of folks including several of my musical brothers and sisters and for that I am very grateful.
Until next time, ya'll take care, be good to each other and I hope to see ya on the road.
Holla ~
Sign the email list and we'll let ya know when The Collins Crew comes to
play in your area. We'll also give ya a holler when the new music is ready.
Until then you can find us on Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube & Reverb Nation. We look forward to Rockin' ya soon!
