I hope your summer is off to a good start. It’s nice and toasty here in Nashville and although I’m not a big fan of the heat, I do enjoy sitting on the back porch after a long day watching all the lightning bugs dance around in the sweet summer night air.
We had a fantastic time on Part 1 of THE HAPRPBREAKER TOUR which started in April. If you followed our schedule, you know we were supposed to play 3 shows in Sweden with the fabulous Wilko Johnson. Unfortunately those shows had to be postponed due to Wilko’s health problems and he has since undergone medical treatment for cancer and is now at home recuperating. Hopefully he’ll be back in the saddle soon. Were all pulling for him!
Having been off the road for a few weeks now, I find myself spending a lot of at home hangin out with my honey Al. I’ve been catching up on some “Spring Cleaning” and cooking a lot, which I love. Al loves it too of course! I make a mean chicken curry!
As much as I like the domestic life, I’m happy to report it’s time to hit the road again as The Harpbreaker Tour part 2 fires back up for a short run of festivals across the pond in Denmark and Norway starting in July with more dates to follow in August. I’m excited to get back on the road with the fellas! We have begun writing some new songs for the next record and it’s fun to work on them in hotel rooms and at sound check. We’re going for a Polka-Metal sound this time. Just kidding! Too be continued…Speaking of music, I’d like to send a quick shout out and thank my newest endorsement partner Seydel Harmonicas from Germany. I play the 1847 Silver Blues harp and love the tone. I’m pretty hard on my harps every night but these bad boys hold up to the test as best they can in my wake. They cost more but they’re worth it. One of few women harmonica players, they have created a nice artist page for me on their company website site and have been great to work with.
In between touring, we’ve been working on revamping my website staciecollins.com. It is now up and running thanks to Paul Needham at Mohawk Visuals. We’ve added some NEW merch, including the 2014 tour T-shirt with all of the show dates on the back. Artwork by Keith Brogdon of Thinking Out Loud Design. We will be adding more items soon so please stop by and have a look around from time to time to see what’s new. I plan on including a fan/friends photo album to the mix, so anyone that has some photo’s of you with me or the band that you’d like to share, send them to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration. I’d love to see them!
Well, I think that about wrap things up for now. I’ll post updates from the road as often as I can. I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones. If ya can’t make it out to a show don’t worry, I’ve got ya covered. You can always pick up my latest release called SHININ’ LIVE! from my website. It’s a DVD + free bonus CD package with over 90 minutes of harp-howlin’ twang-bangin’ rock-n-roll and is the next best thing to being there!
Until next time…
Take care and keep on rockin!
